Amber Bart joined Avalon in 2023 and provides invaluable support to our operations and student outcomes. Amber comes to Avalon with a background in healthcare and STEM, holding a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care from the University of Florida.

Before joining Avalon, Amber played a pivotal role in healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving as an ICU nurse and GI Oncology nurse practitioner at UF Health Shands in Gainesville, Florida, and in anesthesia safety at Stanford Healthcare in Stanford, CA.

Seeking change from that high-stress environment, Amber sought work that would make a positive impact on the lives of young people. This led her to Avalon, where her non-traditional background gives clients a unique perspective and expertise, particularly helpful to our STEM-focused students.

Amber’s prior experience in healthcare has honed her abilities in client satisfaction, strategic planning, collaboration and teamwork. Her clear communication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience with research allows her to positively impact our clients in a multitude of ways. Her commitment to excellence and her welcoming, positive demeanor make her a trusted ally for students navigating the college application process.

When not helping Avalon’s students, Amber enjoys new learning experiences, reading mystery novels, listening to the Science Vs. podcast, and hanging out at the beach. You will also find her staying active through boxing classes, tennis lessons, salsa dancing, and hiking.
