Happy December!

As the year draws to a close, we can’t help but think about the many wonderful students we’ve worked with this year. Their excitement, growth, and successes both big and small are what make our work so fulfilling. Avalon College Advising was founded with the commitment of providing all types of students with an effective, efficient roadmap to college. We recognize that not all students and families are able to afford independent advice, and we reserve resources each year to assist families who may need financial assistance to take advantage of our services. In the new year and going forward, we would like to expand our scholarship work, and invite you to consider joining us in this effort.

Would you help us by providing partial and/or full scholarships for one or more area high school students? We would welcome the opportunity to provide our services to a broader and more economically diverse population, and the gift of your scholarship will make that happen.

In addition to financial resources, we also contribute our time to worthy organizations in the area. Jennifer Williams Taylor has had the privilege of speaking to a number of youth groups, community groups, charitable organizations, high schools, businesses, and more, including her most recent engagements with the YMSL (Young Men’s Service League) and Greene Scholars. One of Jennifer’s presentations, “What Comes Next”, addresses the considerations involved in being accepted to 4-year colleges, including development of a college list, researching college majors, and how to reflect-on and present one’s experiences in the application process. If you have a group or organization you’d like for us to meet, we hope you will be in touch.

Thank you for your continued support as a member of our community. We wish you a wonderful holiday full of connection, peace, and joy.
