Admissions Experts Unsurprised by Elimination of SAT Subject Tests and Essay

The number of students taking SAT Subject Tests has been steadily declining, and so for many, it was no surprise when the College Board decided to discontinue the tests along with the SAT with essay. While this change may be a step in the right direction, many remain unsure about how the decision will impact the admissions process going forward. Will more selective colleges choose to implement an alternate testing requirement? Will admissions professionals lean more heavily on the AP test score?
